Moa Bridge, recently constructed

The Moa Bridge, formerly known as Daru Bridge in Dura town is one of eight bridges constructed on the Pendembu to Kenema Road Project. This is a donor-funded project to construct the road from Kenema to Pendembu by the Sierra Leone Roads Authority (SLRA). The bridge is part of the Kenema to Koindu Road corridor which will eventually terminate at both the Guinea and Liberia borders. Ing. Arthur Davies is the Project Manager representing the SLRA. The donors are Kuwait fund, Saudi fund, DFID, BADEA, IsDB, and Government of Sierra Leone (GoSL). The contractor was ISU Engineering and Construction Company from South Korea and the consultants were Al-Obaid in association with Edward Davies and Associates. The Project commenced in January 2010 and was completed in January 2016. The Project length 85km.

The next phase from Pendembu tto Kailahun is to commence in February 2017. It is funded by IsDB and is to be constructed by a Chinese contractor called CHICHO and the consultants are Studi International and Edward Davies in a joint venture. The Project length is 28km.
